Incandescent
Bulb to Phase Out in the USA –
October 27, 2010 - Incandescent
Lighting as we know will all but disappear by the year 2012.
Yes, it is now reality and no longer a dream. The Energy
Independence and Security Act (EISA), signed by the President of the
United States on December 19th, 2007, laid out the plan to phase out
the incandescent “bulb” over the next decade or so, giving
way to more efficient types of lighting such as the fluorescent, halogen,
and the newest technology the LED light bulb.
As written, the law calls for consumption of energy to be reduced
in the incandescent bulbs by 25-30% by 2014 and as much as 70% less
energy than today by the year 2020. The change will start with the
100 watt bulb by 2012 and end with the 40 watt bulb in 2014.
It is not known how this new law will affect the entertainment
industry, but rest assured that big changes on how we do lighting
today will be occurring dramatically in the near future.
Of course some of these changes are also being propelled
by the High Definition Technology which is requiring less and less
candle power and energy every day.

March 25, 2010 - Miami, FL. Alexandra Castro assumes the
presidency of Lumenlux & Associates, Inc. on April 1, 2010 after
wearing many hats at Barbizon Florida. The move is a well deserved
promotion for the fourteen year veteran of the international entertainment
lighting industry.
The
move comes after the founding president, Hiram Perez, made the decision
to retire so as to dedicate more time to teaching and consulting.
Hiram will continue to oversee the system integration portion of the
company as principal consultant.
